    Productomschrijving

From 1986 to 1989, Anette Mürdter visited the professional class "free ceramic" from D. Várkonyi and afterwards studied sculpture and ceramics at the "State Academy of Fine Arts" (Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Stuttgart under the tutelage of Karl-Henning Seemann and Giuseppe Spagnulo. Since her graduation in 1994, she has been working as a freelance artist and can look back on an extensive range of sculptures. Mürdter still prefers to work with terracotta and bronze; many of her large sculptures can be found in sculpture parks and public spaces.

In many of her works, no matter what format, Mürdter proves to be accurate and at the same time a humorous observer. The town Kleve at the Niederrhein has a 600 year old fool's day tradition (the "geselscap van den gecken") for which Mürdter created a fool's fountain. This fountain has seven watersouts in the shape of fools heads. With this example, and her other small sculptures, she shows us her ability to mock the human habits.
