    Product description

How exuberant is the beauty and splendour with which nature endows her creatures who are in search of a mate to ensure the continuity of their species. The artist on this subject: With this sculpture I was particularly interested in the form, a chalice opening upwards. Sometime I would like to realize this little bronze in a large format. In this process, new shapes result that unfold differently and more diversely.

Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand.

    Gotthelf Schlotter (1922 - 2007)

Gotthold Schlotter is one of the two sons from the art gifted sculptor Heinrich Schlotter, a friend of the famous author Arno Schmidt. He completed his sculptural apprenticeship under his fathers tutelage in Bargfeld, after which he visited the art trade school in Hildesheim. It was not until after the war and captivity, that he was able to study, in 1946 he found his way to Munich. Upon graduation, he devoted himself entirely to the practical tasks; 1949-1951 he trained as a carpenter.
