A long overdue "monument" to the overzealous civil servant: Sitting on his hobbyhorse, he rides through the jungle of paragraphs over the target, always missing the people.

Leo Wirth graduated from the vocational school for wood and stone sculpture in Elbigenalp/Tyrol in 1989 as the best in his class and then ventured into self-employment as a freelance sculptor. The success proved him right. Today his large sculptures can be found in public places from Dorum on the North Sea ("Dike Worker") to Isny in the Allgäu ("Neidhammelbrunnen").

Leo Wirth works formally realistic, even highly realistic. His figures are often entirely contemporaries, right down to fashionable details. At the same time, he has an unerring eye for the typical, even clichéd in our everyday life and not least a good dose of humor, for example, when he puts a "Amtsschimmel" with suit, tie and briefcase on a hobbyhorse with wheels.
