Product description
Edition in bronze, cast in lost wax, chased by hand and patinated.
Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini (1942)
studied ceramics and sculpture at the "L'istituto d'arte Sesto Fiorentino", Florence, with Professor Bonomi from 1963 to 1967; later followed by studies in drawing and painting at the "Académie de la Grande-Chaumière", Paris, with Professors Jérome and Brayer. Numerous works of the artist are in public space. Scholl-Sabbatini's works have been exhibited in Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark, France, Belgium and Italy. Her work for the non-governmental organization "Soroptimist International" in Africa prompted her to become intensively involved with African art. Scholl-Sabbatini's totems are by no means replicas of ethnological representations of totems, but rather attempts to express anew the mysteriousness that surrounds them in a modern visual language.
