    Paola Grizi

    Paola Grizi-PortraitPaola Grizi-Signatur

Paola Grizi's grandfather Piero Grizi (1885 -1976) was a well-known painter and sculptor, and ceramic artists were represented in her family several times. Her passion for the visual arts was therefore awakened early. Her second passion, however, was "immaterial" art, so to speak, and so she first completed a degree in Italian literature and worked as a journalist.

In all these years she has always worked sculpturally as well - with ever-growing success. Her work has been recognized with international awards and in 2016 she was selected to create an art project in St. Peter's Basilica together with 11 other international artists. The theme of the written word recurs in her work. For example, human faces emerge from a book or peer out from a rolled-up, written page. In a sense, Grizi shapes the actually invisible spiritual into the world with the aid of clay.
