Alexandra Fromm (1959)

As an artist's child, Alexandra Fromm already learned the basics of her painterly and sculptural work in her parents' studios in Munich. 

A DAAD scholarship took her to Nevers, France. Study visits to Asia proved to be formative. She learned ink painting techniques from the masters Liu Bing (Hangzhou, China) and Yamanobe (Tokyo, Japan), which she still uses today in her portrait painting. It is also one of her artistic focal points as an artist and as a teacher (within the framework of teaching assignments at the University of Freiburg).

Since 2010 Fromm has also been concentrating on sculpture and has since created an extensive body of sculptural work.
