    Gabriele Haslinger (1958)

Gabriele Haslinger has been familiar with animals since her early childhood, growing up on her parents' farm in Lake Constance-Allgäu. Her inclination towards painting goes back a similarly long way; even as a child she was enthusiastic about depicting animals and practiced drawing and painting. From these beginnings developed a talent for painting, which soon made her known as an animal painter far beyond the regional borders. Today, the artist has perfected her technical skills, especially in representational accuracy, to such an extent that her work enjoys a high reputation both nationally and internationally.

For many years Gabriele Haslinger mainly drew and painted. In the process, she created numerous animal portraits and hunting scenes presented at various exhibitions and professional events. She came to sculpture relatively late, having already lived successfully as a freelance painter for 15 years. Nevertheless, her sculptural work was in demand from the very beginning and could compete with the works of great animalists, because Haslinger also feels committed to lifelike, realistic depiction in sculpture - and yet has developed her very own, unmistakable "handwriting". Rough, unsmoothed surfaces give her wild animals a great expressiveness and invite one not only to admire her sculptures with one's eyes, but to enjoy them in the literal sense of the word. Haslinger's sculptures are in great demand among collectors interested in art and hunting and are part of the holdings of important collections in Germany and abroad.
