Description

Inspired by Greek mythology, this work is characterized by the serene beauty of Arion and the dynamic exuberance of the sea creature on which he sits: a wonderful example of counterpoint between loveliness and strength. According to legend, the god Apollo created the constellation of the dolphin in honor of Arion, who was saved from drowning by the animal. The dolphin from the myth is here a fantastic seahorse, as reconstructed in William-Adolphe Bouguereau's painting, Arion on a Seahorse. A limited edition High Porcelain full of dynamism and power, with ornaments dominated by the contrast between Arion's white skin and the rich color scheme of the horse and its armor.
