Description

Guillaume Grando aka Supakitch is the artist behind these new versions of The Guest. Supakitch began as a graffiti artist in the 1990s and since then the fluidity evoked by graffiti has played an important role in shaping the undulating brushstrokes of his work. His creative projects focus on gesture, movement, liquid material, color and the reflections of light. Elements that are masterfully rendered in the new versions of The Guest he created for Lladró. Porcelain and, in particular, the use of faded mother-of-pearl lusters have proved ideal for reproducing this same watery effect in which the reflection of light conveys a sense of movement and depth. The end result is enhanced by the volume of waves that cover the surface of the piece.
