Anna K. Kleeberg (1976)

Anna K. Kleeberg studied at the Berlin Weißensee State Academy of Art and the Berlin University of the Arts from 1999 to 2005. An early focus was stage design: from her first year of study, she was involved as a stage and costume designer in numerous theater projects and productions throughout Germany, assisting international greats such as Prof. Achim Freyer. In 2005 she received her diploma in stage and costume design. Kleeberg then went to Düsseldorf to work in the studio of Prof. Jörg Immendorff, where she worked as his assistant until his death. This period also saw her first solo exhibitions in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Leipzig, which have been followed by numerous others to date. Her work is multifaceted and not limited to the studio; in addition to her painterly and graphic work, she has maintained the theater as her sphere of activity over the years, not only providing stage sets for productions, but also directing them herself. In 2009 she created her first bronze.
