Description

Saint George is the prototype of the medieval knight and one of the most revered saints in Europe. Artists from the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have created this spectacular interpretation of his legendary adventure with the dragon in a limited edition that stands out for its dynamism and the technical virtuosity of its execution. The scene shows the hero battling a ferocious creature to free the king's daughter, who had to be sacrificed to meet the monster's demands. In the decoration of the piece, the richness of the enamel stands out, with about twenty different shades applied to the dragon and the depth of the textures accentuating the modeling and giving it volume. The knight, on the other hand, is treated more gently, softened by his light skin and apollonian features. This contrast is enhanced by the white horse, a symbol of the nobility, courage and loyalty needed to defeat evil.
