Who is the most beautiful in the whole country? Or rather, what could it be that actually makes her beautiful? Or isn't the mirror being held up to the viewer himself? A slightly ironic but charming flirt with vanity.

    Hermann Koziol (1926 - 2011)

Koziol's first encounter with sculpture was a very tangible one: The young war returnee did an internship at the Neuenstein natural stone quarry in 1945. Just two years later, his path led him to the Käthe Kollwitz School of Art in Berlin, where he met Georg Kolbe, among others. From 1958 to 1960 he studied sculpture with Giacomo Manzu. Immediately afterwards he founded his own bronze foundry, which he operated until 1971. Since then and until old age, he created outdoor sculptures and fountains for public spaces, as well as sacred sculptures for memorials and churches. Koziol is the first recipient of the Hohenlohe Art Prize. Koziol's works are located in about 125 places in public space.
